World of Balance
This is the world map in the first half of the game. The title comes from the balance of power between the Warring Triad (the 3 creators of the world) that holds the world together. The World of Balance consists of two main continents: a Northern Continent and a Southern Continent. There are two remote islands: Crescent Island and Triangle Island.

Locations
Albrook
The port town of the Imperial continent, Albrook remains the Empire's main base in terms of naval and seaworthy expeditions. Being that, Albrook's pubs are frequently filled with Imperial soldiers, much to the dismay of their owners.
Baren Falls
Baren Falls stands before the Veldt as the largest waterfall in the world. With torrential water, infested with piranha, this landmark can be deadly for the unseasoned adventurer.
Colosseum
If you're feeling like a long stroll, you can walk north of Kohlingen to this elderly gentleman's house. Enthralled by the genius and energy of man at war, this old man hopes to one day build a monument to war, a Colosseum, to ensure a place to fight in the world.
Doma Castle
A long-standing kingdom, Doma is guarded by the loyal and courageous Cyan Garamonde. While its occupants are somewhat small, the spirits of the few let any who try to conquer them face a formidable battle.
Figaro Castle
A pioneer in technology and tools, Figaro Castle is a store house of knowledge, know-how, and ingenuity. Constructed with the most advanced and architectural design, it can burrow beneath the sand and traverse underground to another location. The king, Edgar, governs this realm despite his youth.
Gau's Father's House
First found by Sabin, this is the residence of a odd fellow who continually thinks of you as a repairman. Rumors can lead you to believe that this is indeed Gau's estranged father.
Imperial Camp
Shrouded under the cover of constantly blowing sand, a lone Imperial Camp rests in a small secluded desert just outside of Doma. Led by General Leo, the troops stationed at this garrison are charged with taking Doma Castle by any means necessary.
Jidoor
This town, the western most on the world map, is EXTREMELY status oriented, with the middle-class citizens living in the south, the wealthy upper-class to the north, and NO poor people at all (see Zozo). The aristocracy often frequent the Auction and nearby Opera House.
Kohlingen
Kohlingen is a small town surrounded by powerful monsters. Because of this, the bar is renowned for it's ice cold and highly enjoyable drinks. It is also Locke's hometown.
Miranda
On the west coast of the imperial continent lies Maranda, the leading imperial supplier of goods and weaponry for the Empire. Taken in a battle led by General Celes, Maranda, much like the other Empire cities, gives off the feeling of oppression and the stench of the tyranny that binds it.
Mobliz
Geographically isolated from the outside world is Mobliz, the only town in the Veldt. Communicating with other towns by mere carrier pigeons, Mobliz is the most remote place on the map.
Narshe
This is one of the many towns neutral to the Empire and Returners...so far. Known as the headquarters through most of your quest in the World of Balance, Narshe bustles with technology and people. A mining town, moogles and possibly Yetis roam around the deeper portions of Narshe's big cash crop.
Nikeha
A resourceful port town just outside of Narshe and the Serpent Trench, Nikeah bustles with activity, energy, and commerce. A market runs through the city continually, supplied with various items obtained through its abundant sea trade.
Opera House
A place of cultured citizens (usually from Jidoor), the Opera House provides a great place of high-brow entertainment. It's also probably your first shot at testing your magic powers on a tough level.
Phantom Forest
A dark secluded forest maze filled with restless spirits and other non-sociable denizens of the night. Legend has it that a Phantom Train ferries recently departed souls off to the afterlife from a spot deep within.
Returner's Hideout
The headquarters for the largest rebel faction against the Empire, the Returners direct their operations from this makeshift camp. Always on the move to avoid Imperial detection, this is most likely a temporary base.
South Figaro
This is the basic merchant town for Figaro Castle, taking Figaro's highly specialized tools and machinery and selling them to various people. South Figaro is often in the middle of the war, being a nexus to the supply of industrialized hardware.
Thamasa
A small town residing on the very edge of Crescent Island, Thamasa is the supposed gathering place for several Mage Knights long ago. While residents here remain rather leery of strangers, once you become friendly with them, you can obtain some quality magical tools from their quaint shops.
Tzen
Resting to the far north of the Imperial continent, Tzen, like the towns before it, is filled with Empire troops. Going here won't get you much at first by the way of new weapons or info, but a peculiar Magicite-stealing thief may hold something you'd like.
Vector
The capital of the Empire, Vector looms in the center of the Imperial Continent. With its sophisticated technology and heightened security, this stands as the most fortified Imperial stronghold in the world.
Zozo
A town composed of the lower class citizens of Jidoor. The residents here are infamous for their uncouth behavior and, more importantly, their habitual lying.
